Mental Health Nursing
Living with mental illness is tough.
From managing your symptoms, finding treatments that work, talking with different health professionals - it can all be overwhelming. Particularly when your condition makes getting care harder.
We’ll work with you to figure out the right mix of treatments. Whether it’s therapy, medications, care coordination, or skills training.
Our three Mental Health Nurses use an individualised case-management approach to improve both short-term and long-term mental health care.
What can a Mental Health Nurse do for me?
Our nurses can provide a range of psychotherapy modalities, including
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
trauma informed talk therapy.
cross-modality skills like mindfulness and distress tolerance
provide mental health education - know what to expect from your condition and how to best treat it
We combine psychotherapy with clinical care coordination, which involves:
mental health, clinical risk, and functional capacity assessments to aid with NDIS applications/reviews
collaboration with your GP to contribute to diagnoses, care planning, and reviews
regular check-ins to help you monitor your symptoms, risks to you, and how well your treatments are working for you
Help you coordinate your care between your family, health providers, and other services/agencies
Link you with other services to help your recovery.
